3D measurements?

Ignacio Arganda Carreras
Dear all,

I was wondering if there is a direct way to obtain 3D measurements from
an image stack. I was thinking for instance on measure the volume and
surface of a binary stack.

Thanks in advance!

Depends what You mean by direct. There is a plugin for volume estimation
but it requires that user marks ROIs by hand. I guess that with some
tweaking it can be modified to recognize ROIs automatically but this
approach have many constraints and has tendency to unexpected and
annoying errors.

Look at "http://www.ut.ee/~markkom/volumest".

Im planning to write plugin for surface area estimation too, but
schedule is unclear for now.

Hello,

Use the 3D object counter plugin :
