3D orientation plugin available?

Hello,

I would like to construct a 3D color map, based on orientation,  
analogous to this 2D example from OrientationJ :

I was under the impression that the currently available plugins are  
only for 2D images, but would love to be proven wrong (or perhaps  
there is an easy fix to extend it to 3D?).
