64-bit version cannot be accessed from other user accounts (Mac)

Yoon-Jeong Cho
Hi all,

We use ImageJ on our Mac (Mac OS X 10.6.3, 64-bit) that has multiple
user accounts. For some reason, 64-bit version of ImageJ is only
accessible/usable by the user account that installed the program. For
instance, when we install ImageJ using user account A, access is denied
on user account B. When permission level is changed to allow all users
to read and write on the program, the program appears "damaged" on user
account B (and appears to be 8kb in size) and is inaccessible although
it works just fine on user account A. If the program is re-installed on
the second user account, then it will now appear "damaged" on user
account A and work fine on user account B.

All accounts are administrators, and changing privilege/permission level
of the program plus every file inside its content did not help;
restarting the computer or re-downloading and installing ImageJ (1.43)
does not resolve the issue, either.

The regular 32-bit version works fine and can be accessed from any
account, no matter what account was used to install it. All the other
programs we have work fine as well; the issue is specific to 64-bit ImageJ.

Did anyone run into the same problem? Please let me know if you know the
solution to this issue. We appreciate your help.

Thanks,
YJ Cho

This is a problem with file permissions that is fixed in the ImageJ64.app included with the 1.43 distribution for OS X.
