AVI problem

Arya, Shruti
Hello,

I am having trouble reading uncompressed AVI files of approximately 400MB
size in Image J.
Image J manages to open about half the frames (270) and then runs out of
virtual memory. I was wondering if there is an upper limit to the size of
AVI files that can be opened with this software. If anyone else has
experienced this problem, I  would really appreciate any help or suggestions
regarding this issue.

Thank you,
Shruti.

Hi Shruti,

if you're using Windows as operating system, try to increase the virtual
memory of your system:

1) right click on "My Computer" > "System Properties"
2) Tab "Advanced" > "Performance Options" > "Virtual Memory"
3) set paging file size to a fixed value of ~3x system memory on a fast
hard drive disk

cheers,
