About re-distributing Fiji with extra plugin and auto-start script

George H
Hi,

I'm wondering if it is possible to re-distribute Fiji (the No-JRE version)
as is with just the addition of 1 plugin (open source licensed GPLv3) and
an auto-start script that will run that plugin when Fiji is run ?

Firstly, I ask this because I deal with users that do not really know how
to install plugins, so the auto-start script gets them going with the
plugin we want them to use.

Secondly, when they are asked to download Fiji they always get the one with
Java 6 bundled in it and the plugin uses Java 8 features. Plus Java 6 and 7
are already end of life and loaded with security holes.

So installation instructions would be as simple as Download latest version
of Java and download Fiji and just run it.

Of course there would be notices of that fact that it is a re-distributed
version of Fiji with just those changes ...etc. Agreed that over time that
version of Fiji would be a bit outdated, though the updater will run and
I'd have to do some re-releases with more updated version of Fiji.

So all in all, would any licenses be infringed if doing the above? Are
there any other better options ?

Thanks in advance for any feedback.
