Announcement: User Guide v1.45

Tiago Ferreira-2
Hi everyone,

As you may have notice we have updated the User Guide to v1.45(m14).
While previous editions were improving, they were still somehow limited and
uncomfortable to browse. This edition features for the first time, a completely
revamped HTML version with a much nicer layout. Also, the guide is now available
as printable booklets

                    <http://imagej.nih.gov/ij/docs/guide/>

Thanks to all of those who submitted material, criticisms, suggestions and
encouragement to update this edition!

You can read more about what changed on the Colophon and Guide Revision History
pages, but here is a short summary of the changes:

- Deeply revised edition with lots of corrections and more introductory sections
(e.g., Color Spaces, Ethics in Scientific Image Processing, ImageJDev, ...)
- The guide tries to mention Fiji whenever relevant
- Optimized PDFs, featuring smaller sizes
- For those of you interested in History of Science, there is also a short
   contextualization of the IJ icon

Concerning the online version:
The toggling of the Table of Contents seems to work better on Webkit browsers
(Chrome, Safari, Omniweb). Apparently Firefox and MSIE do not remember the
scrolling position of the iframe once hidden, and Opera seems to not remember it
at all. Please let us know if you have problems.

Best,
-Tiago

Hello Tiago,

the User Guide looks pretty neat and is a wonderful resource for students and others who want work with ImageJ. Thanks and keep up that good work.

Cheers,
Marcel
