Appending new files in a directory to existing Virtual Image5D or stack

Dear Imagers,

I would like to be able to add additional images - as they are  
acquired - to an existing Virtual Image5D (or ImageJ Virtual Stack)  
without opening a new window. Might anyone know how to do this? I'd  
like to do it using a Virtual Stack/Image5D to save RAM...
