Area measure

Dear all,

I have to measure the wound-area of about 800 pictures with ImageJ. It has to be really accurate, so first I thougt, I mark the area with the polygon selections cell by cell. But it is too much work, so my question:

Does someone know an easier way to mark the wound-area as accurate as possible?

I attach two images. One with the wound and one with die accuracy I prefer.
