Area measurement of multiple circles (debris).

Hello,

I would like to have ImageJ auto-detect circles based on their color, and then provide me with the area that they take up on the image. The circles that I am trying to detect are bright red, and bordered with a thick black line.

Difficulties include:
1) Debris that cannot be removed in the slide preparation procedure.
2) Colors similar to red are present (i.e. browns and oranges).
3) Shapes that have the correct color, but are not circles (i.e. stain crystals, stained debris, etc.).
4) Blurred-out background materials.
5) High volume of images that need to be processed (400 images), with variation of image properties.

I have attached 3 sample images, along with 3 images with annotations that point out what I am trying to detect.

Any recommendations would be highly appreciated!
