The CDI provides researchers with access to expertise and cutting-edge resources for live cell and intravital microscopy, including state-of-the art confocal, multiphoton, super-resolution and light sheet microscopy. We are seeking a highly motivated and well organised image analyst with a PhD in computer science, software engineering, mathematics, physics or related field.
The candidate should possess advanced computer skills in programming and experience working with image analysis software, such as MATLAB, FIJI/ImageJ, Imaris or OMERO. An essential part of the role will be to provide expert assistance with the archiving, visualisation and processing of very large and content rich datasets, such as those generated by multidimensional or light sheet microscopy. This will include the development of automated image acquisition and analysis pipelines, which are tailored to individual projects.
The position would suit someone who is also highly motivated to provide training to researchers on how to use various software packages, which may include the organisation of workshops or development of online tools. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious postdoctoral scientist to collaborate with leading laboratories at the Institute.
The position is available for 3 years in the first instance. Salary will be within the range of $83,953 - $90,114, dependent on qualifications and experience. Up to 17% superannuation and very attractive salary packaging options are also available.
