BioImage Informatics 2017

Erik Meijering
Dear ImageJ developers and users, you are warmly invited to present your latest work at BioImage Informatics 2017, September 19-21, in Banff, Canada.

CALL FOR ABSTRACTS
BioImage Informatics 2017
September 19-21, Banff, Canada
http://bii.eecs.wsu.edu/

The BioImage Informatics (BII) conference is the premier meeting on image informatics for life sciences. It aims to establish a unique communication network for researchers working in the fields of image processing, computer vision, and image-based analytics, for applications in biology. Since the first conference in 2005, it has been attracting computer scientists and biologists from all over the world.

BII 2017 will be held September 19-21 in the picturesque Banff National Park in Canada. It will feature the newest methods, technologies, research findings, and applications in the field. The conference will include invited talks by leading scientists as well as oral and poster presentations selected from submitted abstracts. Participants with any level of experience will greatly benefit from attending this conference.

INVITED SPEAKERS
• Mike Hawrylycz (Allen Institute for Brain Science)
Visual coding and Allen Brain Observatory
• Philipp Keller (Janelia Research Campus)
Whole-animal imaging with high spatio-temporal resolution
• Michal Kozubek (Masaryk University)
The ABCs of rigorous bioimage analysis: algorithms, benchmarks, challenges
• Nir Shavit (Massachusetts Institute of Technology)
New segmentation approaches for high-throughput connectomics
• Carolina Wählby (Uppsala University)
Digital image processing for drug screening

ABSTRACT SUBMISSION
You are cordially invited to submit high-quality abstracts describing original contributions to any aspect of bioimage informatics. Topics of interest include but are not limited to:
• Computational imaging in light and electron microscopy
• Deep learning strategies for bioimage analysis
• Integrative analysis of image and omics data
• Neuron reconstruction and brain connectomics
• Image analysis from molecular to cellular levels
• Histopathological image processing and analysis
• Objective evaluation of bioimage informatics methods
• Storage and management of bioimage data sets
• Whole-organism bioimage data handling and analysis
• Large-scale image-based screening and data analytics
• Bioimage informatics software, pipelines, workflows

IMPORTANT DATES
Abstract submission deadline: June 20, 2017
Abstract decision notification: July 10, 2017
Conference dates: September 19-21, 2017
