Built in Particle Analyzer or Particles_8 ?

Hi,

starting with the same binary picture the built in Particle Analyser (PA) gives me different values for particle sizes, area e.g. then Particles_8 (P8) from G.Landini.
I think I read somewhere in this forum that PA and P8 are using a different approach definig the perimeter e.g. and therefore getting different results.

I have to decide either to use PA or P8 for a quantification of particles (size, area,...). So is there any experience, comparison with commercial software or anything else, to tell me which method is more precise.
