Cell length measurment

Mehdi Nikkhah
Dear all

I have grown cells on a flat substrate and I am trying to measure their
length,

If I want to do length measurement using Image J, is there anyway to bypass
one by one length measurement? I am trying to mark a line on the cells and
measure all the length at the same time, but it seems ImageJ does not have
the capability

I would appreciate if you could kindly let me know about this question

Thanks

Mehdi Nikkhah

Hi Mehdi,

You just need to use the ROI Manager (Analyze - Tools - ROI Manager).
After you draw each line, just click on Add in the ROI Manager. When you
have all of the line selections added, you can then click on Measure in
the ROI Manager window. If you want to save the ROIs, then you can click
on Save and save the whole set.

Make sure when you go to measure, that you don't have any of the lines
highlighted in the ROI Manager. Otherwise, you will only get the
measurement for that individual line segment.

You should scale your image first so that you get the measurements in
the appropriate units.

Cheers,

Jacqui
