Hi,
I have a number of images of crystals that are either hexagonal or diamond/rhombus shaped. My goal is to mark all of the crystals by filling then in with a solid color and then using ImageJ to count them and analyze their dimensions. Unfortunately, many of the crystals in the images are "broken" in that they have sides or parts of sides that don't show up in the image. I've attached one of my images to give you all an idea of what I'm looking at.
Is there a way of doing this without using the Dilate tool? Sometimes dilate fails to properly close the crystals.
Is there a way of getting ImageJ to recognize and complete hexagons that have holes in their sides or are missing 1-3 sides?
