Color Histogram with ROI's

Andrew Phillips-2
Hi,

I was wondering if anyone else is having problems with using the Color
Historam function with ROI's? The most current plugin states that the
ROI bug was fixed, but even with the most current version, I have not
been able to get the histograms to work with ROI's. If I select a region
of an image and then run the Color histogram, some of the averages that
I get are clearly not the true averages for the ROI.  Is anyone else
having this problem and is there a fix?

Thanks,

Andy Phillips

Yes, I have the same problem with Color Histogram and ROI's. Sometimes it works, but not usually. I don't have a fix, but I have a workaround.

My workaround has been to split the image into an RGB stack and use the Custom Histogram macro on the stack.  http://rsb.info.nih.gov/ij/macros/CustomHistogram.txt
This creates a stack of histograms, one for each color, of the ROI.
A few more mouse clicks, but it works. (i've mapped Custom Histogram to Shift-H to save a few mouse moves.)
