Hello,
I would be grateful if someone could please define for me or direct me to
a definitive online resource that gives the expressions used for the
various forms of image histogram stretching/constrast stretching.
Alternatively, please recommend a textbook that gives the same.
I am especially trying to locates expressions for
Arbitary linear stretch
Maximum-minimum stretch
Arbitary linear stretch with histogram clipping (A.K.A the Saturation
stretch)
Equalisation stretch
Normalisation (A.K.A the gaussian) stretch
Log stretch
Exponential stretch
Power-law stretch
Ends-in stretch
There are numerous websites that provide some of these expressions, but I
have not been able to find not one that provides them all. Moreover, most
do not provide the term used to scale the results of these expressions to
the bit dpth of the image(channel). I dont need samples of program code to
perform these operations.
I realise this is a rather basic request, but text-books and my
web-searches have not been of much help thus far.
