Convert AVI files

Ladjez
Hi everyone !

I didn't find any other topic about the problem I have, so I open this one.

I have several .avi videos (~900Mo) that I need to convert in .tiff format, so I went into Process --> Batch --> Convert... to convert them.
When I click on the Input... button and search for my videos, none of them appear.

Do you know from where could this issue comes from ? I have the latest version (1.50i) of ImageJ.

Do I need to install some plugins to be able to convert my videos ?

Thanks for your comprehension !

Re: Convert AVI files

Good day Ladjez,

if I interpret your desire correctly, you should open your avi-file in
ImageJ: Either drag the file to ImageJ or use the Open menu item. In the
latter case you may choose the option "Use Virtual Stack".
(If ImageJ doesn't open your avi-file, it may be in a format that ImageJ
doesn't recognize and you should use a different converter.)

After opening the avi-file, save it using the menu item "Save As >
Tiff...". The result is a tiff-stack of the frames. If you prefer a
series of tiff-images instead, use the menu item "Save As > Image
Sequence..."

That's it!

Best

Herbie

The Process > Batch > Convert... command wants you to select the folder
containing your images, not the images themselves.

Similarly, for output, select an output folder where the converted images
should be saved.

Curtis

You can convert AVI to TIFF with MConverter in three easy steps:
Choose AVI files from your device. At the top of this page, drag and drop your AVIs.
Click or tap on TIFF from the list of target formats.
Download your TIFF files, after MConverter has finished processing them.

Yes, MConverter supports batch converting of multiple MP4's to TIFFs simultaneously. You can even drag and drop folders containing MP4's to convert to TIFF.
