I need to count a population of cells, which is subdivided into three populations based on location (i.e. cells at top, middle, and bottom of region). My overall ROI is rectangular shaped, but changes in orientation and size from image to image. I want to basically subdivide this 'rectangle' first into thirds exactly, and then be able to count the number of cells that fall into each of these areas.. Is there an easy way of doing this in imageJ or FIJI? I can't just divide the image into thirds, since my region of interest changes from image to image. Can I somehow draw a box, and divide that into thirds?
