Editing and exporting Dicom images from ImageJ to ProSoma

davelines
Hi all,

I am new to both ImageJ and the Dicom format. We have been attempting to import a stack of Dicom images into ImageJ, make some minor alterations such as drawing on the images, and then Exporting the images as a Dicom file so that it can be read by ProSoma, or our Treatment Planning System.

So far we have tried using the Tudor DICOM Tools plug-in and the dcmie Import/Export plug-in (at seperate times) in order to import Dicom images, and then Export them after they have been edited in ImageJ.

After many attempts we have been able to produce edited Dicom files which can be recognised by independant Dicom viewers, however the stacks are still not recognised by ProSoma as stacks.

We believe this is because in the Dicom header information under 0020,1041 : Slice location, the plug-in appears to have edited the slice location so that each file location has the same value. Firstly does anyone know if this is in fact the case, and if there is any way we can edit this. But more importantly if anyone has any insights as to a method that may help us with this problem it would be really really appreciated.

I look forward to your responses,

Regards,

Dave Lines
