Hi Tischi,
for the people who are curious what Git is: it is a tool for developers
which allows you to manage multiple revisions of your source code and to
collaborate with others on said source code.

Yes, this is correct. The Script Editor auto-detects when the current file
is in a directory structure that is managed by Git and automatically shows
the Git menu (it is hidden otherwise).
For the menu items in the Git menu to work correctly, git.exe must be
reachable via your environment variable PATH.
Note, however, that I never tested this feature on Windows. If you
encounter problems, I would therefore be very thankful for you assistance
in resolving them.
