Fiji updater

Knecht, David
My installation of Fiji does not update automatically at all any more. I have no Edit-options-Configure Fiji Updater command in mine and I have never seen the dialog box below.  Has something changed?

According to the documentation:

The Fiji Updater is a mechanism to update individual packages in Fiji. It is automatically run when all the following conditions are met:

  *   Fiji was just started
  *   Fiji was started without parameters (i.e. no Drag 'n Drop onto the Fiji icon)
  *   Fiji's files can be updated by the current user
  *   There is a network connection

If there were updates since the Updater was run the last time, Fiji will ask whether you want to run the Updater now or later:

In case you do not want to run the Updater upon startup, you can choose Never; this setting can be adjusted inEdit>Options>Configure Fiji Updater<http://fiji.sc/Update_Fiji#Configure_the_Updater>, too.

That documentation is unfortunately obsolete -- the dialog no longer
exists. I removed the documentation to avoid future confusion.

You can run the Updater by choosing Help > Update Fiji, though.

If your Updater got set to "never" and you want to undo that, you can run
this BeanShell script:

    imagej.updater.core.UpToDate.setLatestNag(-1);

This command will change in a forthcoming release of ImageJ2, though.

Curtis
