In the manage update sites list, there are several different Bioformats sites listed:
Bioformats Loci Bioformats 4 Bioformats 5 What should be checked to update Bioformats???? Dr. David Knecht Professor of Molecular and Cell Biology Core Microscopy Facility Director University of Connecticut Storrs, CT 06269 860-486-2200 -- ImageJ mailing list: http://imagej.nih.gov/ij/list.html |
Hi David,
>In the manage update sites list, there are several different Bioformats sites listed: I'm not sure where you're seeing the Bio-Formats 4/5 sites... those are outdated, and are no longer listed on http://fiji.sc/List_of_update_sites (when managing update sites from Fiji, the list of sites is generated from that page) > What should be checked to update Bioformats???? Actually, Bio-Formats 5.0.2 ships with Fiji. From the "Help > Update" menu if you type "bio-formats" in the search menu, it will filter all the bio-formats jars out. You can click on individual jars to see some extra information on them. You should see a number of entries under /jars/bio-formats, and they all come from the update site "Fiji". See this screenshot for an example of what my update dialog looks like: http://hinerm.imagej.net/update-fiji.png If you'd like the daily build of Bio-Formats, then you should enable the "Bioformats" update site, based on its description on http://fiji.sc/List_of_update_sites. Hope that helps, Mark On Thu, Aug 7, 2014 at 2:20 PM, Knecht, David <[hidden email]> wrote: > In the manage update sites list, there are several different Bioformats > sites listed: > > Bioformats > Loci > Bioformats 4 > Bioformats 5 > > What should be checked to update Bioformats???? > > Dr. David Knecht > Professor of Molecular and Cell Biology > Core Microscopy Facility Director > University of Connecticut > Storrs, CT 06269 > 860-486-2200 > > -- > ImageJ mailing list: http://imagej.nih.gov/ij/list.html > -- ImageJ mailing list: http://imagej.nih.gov/ij/list.html |
Hi Mark, Dave & everyone,

And existing installations of Fiji do not "clear out" obsolete update sites which were since removed from the list of update sites page. It should be fine to just delete the "Bio-Formats 4" and "Bio-Formats 5" entries from the list.
