Fin Max on ImageJ

Juan Francisco-2
Dear all:
with Image J is possible to use the option Process--->Binary---->Find Max, in order to detect the location of the pixel with maximum intensity. The search is done pixel by pixel. It would be possible to run the search with a ROI? I mean, it possible to detect the pixel of an image where the mean pixel value of a moving ROI is maximum at this pixel?
  Thanks a lot.

Hi Juan,

for clarification first:
Find Maxima does not give a single pixel with the maximum intensity
but the pixels (plural) that are local maxima.

What you have in mind can be done by blurring the image before
running "Find Maxima". Moving averages are available via the
Filters>Mean command. The "roi" is a square if you select "separable
square kernel" or a circle (otherwise).
