Dear ImageJ listers,
Just purchased a new Hamamatsu Orca 285G firewire camera, was hoping to go down the route of making it work with micro-manager plug-in for ImageJ. Micro-manager (v1.1.46 for Windows XP) installed on 3Ghz Intel PC - Have downloaded DCAM-API.dll from Hamamatsu, placed in Micro-manager folder, but still when I try to configure the camera as new hardware I only get as far as "Error 22: Dcam : native module not found" Any ideas to get past this stage? Is there an additional adaptor needed? Looks like a good program for our purposes and we are keen to make use of it. It is a while ago I did this on Windows, but I remember that there was a straight-forward installer for the DCAM-API. Installing the driver was a bit less straight forward, since Windows seems to think that its own driver is more appropriate than the Hamamatsu one, and it was needed to specifically point to the Hamamatsu driver during driver installation. Please make sure that the Hamamatsu driver (and not the Microsoft one) is used for the camera. It is not needed to copy the file DCMA-API.dll to the Micro-Manager directory. In any case, please make sure that the DCAM API is installed correctly and working with the camera. If it isn't, there is no way that Micro-Manager can operate the camera. If it is, your camera is very likely to work with Micro-Manager. It is probably best to continue this thread on the Micro-Manager mailing list (https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/micro- manager-general) to which I cross-posted.
