Help commands gray out

Glen MacDonald-2
I’ve been noticing for several months that the commands in the Fiji Help menu will be grayed out and unavailable for periods of time ranging from minutes to tens of minutes.  Usually it resolves itself, eventually.  This does not occur with any other menu nor can I associate it with any particular operation.  Both MacPro and MacBook Pro, OS10.9.5, latest builds of Fiji/ImageJ, currently 2.0.0-rc-15/1.49m; Java 1.6.0_65

Has anyone else experienced this?
thanks

I experienced something similar, which was reported as bug 771:
http://fiji.sc/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=771

This was resolved, but maybe some other update site broke it again.
You can test this by disabling update sites and seeing if that fixes it.
However, this can be quite tedious.

Re: Help commands gray out

thanks Aryeh,
Interesting to read your bug report.  That is almost the same set of update sites as I have enabled.  I had cut back  on the number of update sites a few months ago since something was causing Fiji to refuse to start.  My intention was to start adding them back until Fiji broke again, but other tasks piled up instead.

Earlier this morning, the help menu disappeared after some command, but eventually reappeared  after running the new Ridge Detection plugin.
I will further reduce update sites and see what changes.
