I am running ImageJ on a Windows 7 64 bit system with 8 Gigs of memory. The version is the 64 version. Every time I try to open a TIFF file about 12 MB in size, the program reports that it
is out of memory. ImageJ reports it is using < 1% of memory so I don’t understand why. I tried increasing the memory and tried removing java, cleaning memory and programs, installing imagej in a different directory etc and it keeps giving me the error. Please
help, this is very frustrating. If I run image J in a much slower machine with lower memory there is no problems, but I need to use my own computer to work.
