Hough transform and arcs caracterization

Hi again,

I try to caracterize arcs in images.
Those arcs are allmost like half circles and smaller arcs.
I tested allready a simple approach with feret diameter and would like to
give the hough transform a try.

I found the Hough circle but is there something more relevant for arc
caracterization ?

PS : I red a lot about this issu in the mailing list with no clear answer
