How does on count cells and their density with image j in pyramidal cells?

Kafentzou
I am a student, lab technician in a neurobiological laboratory and have beengiven some imaging to do with imagej that I truely need assistance on. Ihave reacted sections of rat brain tissue with bFGF, and I am looking tofind how to count pyramidal cells and their density through image j. I needto find data for my experiment as soon as possible. My question is how can ifind this data through image j.

Thank you,A.P.

Hi Kafentzou,

Can you give as a little more detail? Have you labeled nuclei with DAPI or Hoechst? Are these brightfield or fluorescence images? What kind of data do you need (number of cells, number of cells with a marker, size of nuclei, etc)? Do you need to automate your analysis, or are there a reasonable number of images to analyze by hand. If the cells are sparse? Do you have to distinguish between different types of cells labeled with bFGF?

Hi Kafentzou

Please send one or two example images with the details asked by Damon, to make the problem clear.

With warm regards
