How to do a 3d reconstruction from multiple 2d images

Ranganathan, Sreenivasan
Hi,

Can I create a 3D image from a set to 2D planar images? Then after creating the 3D image, the idea is to estimate the surface area of the 3D image.

For eg, this is similar to taking multiple pictures around a Christmas tree and try to use them to create a 3D image of the same.

If you have some suggestions, it could help me in processing these images. Thanks or your time.

thanks,
Sreeni

Hi Sreeeni, in order to render your 2D stack in 3D you can use "3D Viewer" plugin (find it at http://3dviewer.neurofly.de/); instead if you want to measure volume you should segment each slice and measure surface/volume with "3D Roi Manager" (have a look at http://imagejdocu.tudor.lu/doku.php?id=plugin:stacks:3d_roi_manager:start).
