		Hello,
I have been trying to quantify the fluorescence of projections branching out of cell bodies.
I have imaged osteocytes (cells which are buried inside the skeleton)  which have this long processes just like neurons (to make it simple!)
Now what I want to do is quantify the fluorescence from these processes excluding the fluorescence coming from the cell body. What I tried to do is to: 1)measure the whole area of my picture; 2)then draw  ROI around each single cell body and measure them  and finally 3)subtract the measurements of the cell bodies from the measurement of whole area so at the end I should only have measurement of fluorescence of my projections. Does it make any sense? Please help!  or is there any automatic way I can select ROI and tell the program to exclude these area from the measurement?

  Thanks
