IJ Problem after Windows auto-update

Robert Bagnell
Summary:

ImageJ would quit whin I tried to open an image on my laptop PC
running Windows XP service pack 3 after an automatic Windows update.
Wayne suggested the following:
----
There is probably an error message in the command window. You can see
what it is by changing the line
    jre\bin\javaw.exe
in ImageJ/ImageJ.cfg to
    jre\bin\java.exe
and running ImageJ. Post the error message to the list, along with
these instructions, so we can see what it looks like.
------
I did that. ImageJ started with an error window but there was no
message in it. ImageJ ran fine. When I change the line back to
contain ijvaw.exe, ImageJ quits as soon as I try to open an image.

Any suggestions?

Bob

The project "Fiji" set out to fix issues like the one you describe.
Maybe it works out of the box?
