IJ1 on OSX El Capitan - two issues

lechristophe
Hi Wayne and IJers,

I tried to install ImageJ1 from the website (
http://rsb.info.nih.gov/ij/download.html) tonight. The version without JRE
would not launch upon double clicking on OSX El Capitan with Java 1.6
installed, likely due to the change in the location of system-wide Java 1.6
(which is now in Library/Java/JavaVirtualMachines).

The Java 1.8-bundled version of IJ as downloaded from the website launches,
but the load() function to call javascript files is broken (likely due to
the change in JS interpreter in Java 1.8).

I don't know if any of this can be corrected, but I wanted to let you know.

Best Regards,

Christophe

ImageJ does work on OSX El Capitan with Java 1.6. What exactly is the error message? Did you try command-clicking on the ImageJ icon and selecting “Open” from the drop down menu? This is sometimes required when running ImageJ for the first time.

Upgrade to the latest ImageJ daily build (1.50g8) and the JavaScript load() function should work when running Java 8.
