Image Acquisition Question

Mike Myerburg
Hi-

I am working on a project where I would like to capture streams with a
high frame rate (i.e. >60 fps).  I can set this up with either a
Qimaging Retiga Exi (preferably) or a Hamamatsu C4742-95.  I do not need
to have control of the scope, as this is something that can be done
manually.

Is this possible using uManager, CamAcqJ, CivilCapture, or other plugin?

Thanks for the help, Mike

CivilCapture is based on standard drivers (WDM of Windows, Quicktime
on Mac, V4L2 on Linux), so if the cameras you selected have that
drivers, you could try. However, there could be some bottleneck either
software or hardware to reach that frame rate, at maximum available
resolution.
Retiga EXI specifications tell: 10fps full resolution @ 12 bits
(165fps maximum with binning and ROI functions) ; Hamamatsu
specifications tell Frame Rate 9 frames/sec (full resolution), 18
frames/sec (2x2 binning).

Regards,
Vincenzo
