Hello,
I am looking for a fast multi-threaded lossless compression/decompression scheme to archive entire folders containing tif images (1 TB+ per folder). I would be happy with average compression rates around 2 to 3 as long as the de-compressor can sustain over 1 GB/s output rate on a fast 8 core PC (10 Gb access from a fast NAS, streaming to main memory or local SSD RAID). Ideally the de-compressor would integrate into ImageJ. Optionally having an extra compression boost for time-lapse and 3D stacks would be great (as long as the speed is not sacrificed too much). I am looking into LZ4 now, any suggestions?
Best,
Sébastien
