Image windows collapse to a thin title bar

jolyon
When I open an image it initially opens as a tiny window. When zooming in, enlarging the window, or moving it the window collapses into its title bar (so I can't see any of the image) and it can't be enlarged/viewed. The setLocation(x,y,w,h,) macro doesn't expand the image either.

I only have this problem running Ubuntu with multiple monitors (two monitors). When I just use one monitor it works fine.

Maybe this is a java environment problem? But it would be great to have a fix for this.

I also had substantial problems with a second screen on Linux. It seemsto
be a Java problem. In some circumstances, I could resize the windows using
Alt-F8, though.

In my case: Linux Ubuntu 13.04 64bits, dual screen still renders opening images with ImageJ impossible.
No problem with single screen, though.
Any idea how to fix this?
