ImageJ and DICOM ultrasound images

Ben J
I've been trying to open DICOM ultrasound images using ImageJ but they aren't displayed properly.  Anyone know why?

Hi Ben,

The Bio-Formats importer plugin
(http://www.loci.wisc.edu/ome/formats.html) can open DICOM files --
you could give that a try, too.

Re: ImageJ and DICOM ultrasound images

Ben J
I have DICOM Reader.java and a number of other utilities with which I can view/manipulate DICOM images.  I just can't open ultrasound and have them look properly..they're all grayed out.  I also can't open DICOM multiframe (but that's another topic).  I have no problem opening CT, MRI, radiographs, etc...  I'll see if I can get the techs or IT to send save some ultrasound images for me.  I currently just have the standard ultrasound images with patient info burned into them so I can't post them.
