Hi everybody,
This is my first post to this mailing list. I have been using Object-Image to measure pictures of flowers to measure floral traits. I've been taking advantage of the object file functionality that Object-Image provides in order to easily manage all my measurements in one file. I was wondering if similar functionality exists within ImageJ. I have been unable to determine a way to set up a file similar to an object file in Object-Image and have had no success in finding a means to use object files I've previously defined in Object-Image in ImageJ. My main purpose in trying to locate this functionality in ImageJ is so that I can measure these pictures on a Windows machine instead of being limited to a machine running OS X Classic or OS 9. Thanks in advance for any help or information you can provide me. -- Neil Patel |

Neil, I used Object-Image for years and loved it, but ImageJ is so much more powerful not to mention multi-platform so I am using it exclusively now. It wasn¹t clear from your massage exactly what you want to do, but I doubt there is anything you do in Object-Image that can¹t be done with ImageJ, at least after writing a plugin. ImageJ is written in java, so you would have to re-write your macros from Pascal to java but that isn¹t really too difficult. Let me know if you need more help. Sorry if my first post was vague. I would like to replicate the
functionality that was provided by the object file in Object-Image. Creating an object file involved defining the measurements that one was interested in and then measuring these over many pictures. In this way the data automation process could be automated since the object file would store the file name of the image and the measurements that were taken. After that point it was a simple matter of exporting the object file results and importing them to Excel. My main question is if this functionality is available in ImageJ or if I would need to write a plugin to achieve it. -- Neil Patel On 2/6/06, Christopher Coulon <[hidden email]> wrote: > > This is my first post to this mailing list.
