ImageJ for measuring relative DNA content

Darek Kedra-3
Hello,

I am wondering if anybody is using ImageJ to quantify DNA in cell nuclei?
The procedure (using another software) is described in

David C. Hardie, T. Ryan Gregory, and Paul D.N. Hebert, “From Pixels to
Picograms: A Beginners' Guide to Genome Quantification by Feulgen Image
Analysis Densitometry,” J. Histochem. Cytochem. 50, no. 6 (June 1, 2002):
735-750.

In short, Feulgen stained nuclei of two species (one control and one being
investigated) are captured on an image, detected, background is subtracted,
finally optical density of two populations is calculated.

I did look at some ImageJ tutorials, and while the whole procedure should be
possible (even a simple list of unordered OD values will do) I will feel
better knowing that this has been done already. Any hints will be
greatlyappreciated. ;-)

Thank you for your help
