ImageJ2 bugs

Rob van 't Hof-2
Hi,

Just gave the latest beta for ImageJ2 (beta 3) a quick test and
encountered a couple of problems.

1. When I create a rectangular selection and run "crop" nothing happens.
2. When using any of the selection tools on an image that is not at 100%
zoom, the image window resizes and zoom levels change. This does not
happen with the drawing tools.
3. Drawing tools are extremely slow when used on the "embryos" sample image.
4. When drawing within a selection, the selection is moved around by the
drawing action.
5. When running the macro recorder, the program regularly hangs after a
certain amount of time. haven't figured out what causes it. Also the
macro recorder does not seem to record much.

Otherwise, the program feels a lot more responsive, and some simple
older ImageJ-1 macros wotrk OK. can't test anything particularly serious
though as the thresholding hasn't been implemented yet, and most of my
macros use this at some point.
Keep up the good work,
Rob

Hi Rob,

Thank you for trying out the beta and reporting these issues. I'll address
them one at a time below:

> 1. When I create a rectangular selection and run "crop" nothing happens.

I've filed a ticket for this bug (
http://code.imagej.net/trac/imagej/ticket/1335) and CCed you. You will
receive email updates of progress made resolving this issue.

> 2. When using any of the selection tools on an image that is not at 100%
zoom, the image window resizes and zoom levels change. This does not happen
with the drawing tools.

This is a known issue (http://code.imagej.net/trac/imagej/ticket/1189)
which we will address as time allows

> 3. Drawing tools are extremely slow when used on the "embryos" sample
image.

This is a known issue (http://code.imagej.net/trac/imagej/ticket/925) which
we will address as time allows

> 4. When drawing within a selection, the selection is moved around by the
drawing action.

I've created a ticket for this issue (
http://code.imagej.net/trac/imagej/ticket/1336) and you've been CCed

Macro support isn't quite in place yet. You can run existing macros but
recording is not really working yet. I've updated the following ticket (
http://code.imagej.net/trac/imagej/ticket/1126) and CCed you.

Any information you could provide so that we can replicate the hanging
behavior would be appreciated.

Thanks again for reporting these issues.
