Images not showing

I have Fiji installed on Windows 7-64. When I try to open an image (.jpg), it does not show in the ImageJ window but in a separate little window which is not editable. I tried this: nVidia fix . I can see the nVidia plugin in the plugin list, but when I click on it, I get an error that says "ImageJ configuration file not found at [file path]". I can't find the ImageJ.cfg file either. Any help on how to fix this?

How are you opening the image? Using File > Open? Via drag and drop? Double
clicking? Are you sure it is ImageJ that is handling the operation?

What do you mean by "not editable"? Does it look like an ImageJ window, and
the tools just don't work? Or does the window look different than it is
supposed to?

I think that is only to fix display issues, not UI issues.
