Import 48-bit RAW RGB

I was wondering if anyone knew of a plugin or a way to import a RAW 48-bit RGB image using ImageJ. The image is divided into multiple 256 X 256 pixel slices and is offset from the beginning of the file by a number of bytes. Once it's imported I'll need to be able to run it through the make montage feature to get a single image. If anyone has any ideas advice I'd be very grateful.
