Improving the accuracy of Watershed Segmentation

Hi All,

How to improve the watershed segmentation ?
If you refer the segmented image below, I was expecting to get a separation in the area marked in red and not expecting a cut in the area marked in green. Is there a plugin to control this ? or to separate based on the thickness of laths/particles ? or is there a way to improve the existing code for this purpose ??
