Hi everyone, I’m running Mac OS Catalina 10.15.3. Have successfully installed ImageJ, but cannot install the FracLac plugin. When I go to do the install I get the following error message included in this screenshot below. I quit ImageJ, restart it, go to Plugins, then Install. From there I select the .jar file. Am i installing this to the correct directory? It says it is the Plugin folder. I would appreciate any help you can provide. Thanks! You have run into the dreaded Mac OS Path Randomization “feature”, described in the third paragraph of the installation notes at https://imagej.nih.gov/ij/docs/install/osx.html. MacOS 10.12 (Sierra) and later have a security feature called Path Randomization that can cause ImageJ to not work as expected. Path randomization is in effect if the "ImageJ home" path shown in the Image>Show Info window starts with "/private" and plugins are not installed in the Plugins menu. You can disable path randomization by dragging ImageJ.app to another folder and then (optionally) dragging it back. -wayne -- ImageJ mailing list: http://imagej.nih.gov/ij/list.html |
Thanks for your quick response. Dreaded is the right word. Can’t locate the proper folders. Will try on Windows instead.

Instead of "installing" ImageJ, can you download it to a folder instead?
This is how I work with ImageJ and Fiji on computers maintained by IT dept so that I can put in root drive C: or in my documents folder to avoid IT issues.
