Interesting colocalization question

s d s
Hi everyone,

I am new to imagej and have really loved what I have been able to accomplish with it already. Here is an interesting situation I have run into. I have two images, both processed and thresholded to have only the objects of interest. The first image has multiple straight line segments (oriented randomly), and the second image has dots that are colocalized on those line segments. Questions is, I want to know the length of the line segments, and the position of the dots from one (any) end of the line segment they are colocalized on.

Here is the real challenge: How do I do it without visual inspection of the coordinate files? I want to be able to run a plugin and have a data table output with the lengths, and the colocalized distance maps corresponding to those lengths. I am eager to hear any and all suggestions.

Thanks!
