Is 32*32 pixel ROI sufficient to get reliable estimates of FD through FRACLAC.

Jitendra Virmani
I recently tried using FRACLAC to get the estimates of Fractal dimension on
20 Normal ROIs and 20 diseased ROIs taken out from B-Mode Liver US Images.
the size of ROI is 32 by 32. With the Box-count 2-D version of fraclac
applied to the graysacle ROIs I am getting approximately same values for
fractal dimension. However I presume that for diseased ROIs the FD should
be higher (rough texture). All other setting were kept as it is.

I am in doubt whather I am getting reliable FD extimates or I should use
larger ROIs say 64 by 64. Any advice on this can really help me out.

Keeping my fingers crossed to recieve suggestions from the forum.

Thanks in Advance.
