Is it possible to automate area measurement?

AZ
Hi,

I've been using ImageJ to measure pupil area. I make measurements from frames that I've taken from recorded video. I import the video into Sony Vegas, apply some effects to make the video brighter and sharper so that I'm able to better distinguish the edges of the pupil from the part of the eye surrounding it. Then I export frames from the video as JPEGs and use them in ImageJ.

I open a frame, draw a circle with the oval tool surrounding the pupil (which changes size from frame to frame) and measure the area (Ctrl + M). Then I move on to the next frame and repeat.

The issue is that I deal with hundreds of frames like this and have been doing this area measurement manually and the entire workflow becomes lengthy and tiresome. Is there a script out there that would help me automate this process? Or speed it up in any way, shape or form? Any and all help is appreciated.

Thanks!
