I've installed the loci_tools.jar plugins and restarted ImageJ 1.45m on my Mac (OS10.6.8), but I get no response after selecting any of the LOCI plugins from the Plugins>LOCI menu. Also, if I try to use any of the LOCI plugins from within Fiji (recently updated), I get an error message. For example, if I try to use the LOCI>Bio-Formats Importer plugin, I get the message:
Plugin loci.plugins.LociImporter did not find the required class: ij/plugin/Plugin I get a similar message about not finding ij/plugin/Plugin in when I try any of the LOCI plugins. My machine has several different ImageJ variants, and I wonder if these problems are related and arise from a classpath issue. I copied the jar into my Libraries/Java/Extensions folder, but this didn't seem to cure things. Can anyone suggest an explanation, fix, or diagnostics? Thanks. Bill Christens-Barry |

Please check both folders for loci_tools.jar, ij.jar, bio-formats.jar or other ImageJ-related libraries and remove them. If you are unsure, feel free to send a listing of the contents of those folders to the list and we can let you know which files are supposed to be there. 2) Have you tried rebooting the machine? ;-) 3) Have you tried downloading a fresh copy of ImageJ into a new folder, dropping in loci_tools.jar there and seeing if it works? This will help determine whether the problem lies with your existing ImageJ/Fiji installations, or with your system as a whole. 4) Have you hacked any configuration files, such as /etc/launcd.conf or ~/.MacOSX/environment.plist? You should not need to do so for ImageJ, and doing so could conceivably cause problems. Please report back to the list if you figure it out! -Curtis On Thu, Aug 25, 2011 at 9:51 AM, Bill Christens-Barry < [hidden email]> wrote: > I've installed the loci_tools.jar plugins and restarted ImageJ 1.45m on my > Mac (OS10.6.8), but I get no response after selecting any of the LOCI > plugins from the Plugins>LOCI menu.
