> Greetings, ImageJ folks.

> I'm sure the topic of commercial support for ImageJ is of great interest to some of you and worthless to others, so please respond directly to me rather than to the list. I will summarize the discussion back to the full list. If I get more than 20 or so interested people, I will put it back out to the full list for general discussion, otherwise, stay tuned for the summary.

> Short Version: I am looking for options to enlist commercial support of ImageJ. I know I'm not the only one (see recent post by Jeffrey Stark). If you are in a position to offer the support or are interested in obtaining commercial support, please reply directly to me, Bill Heeschen, at

> I've looked back through the list archives and found various references to this general topic, but none in a concise, finalized form. I have also seen some signature lines that suggest the submitter has commercial support connections, so I'm guessing these folks will get back to me quickly! In light of the missing commercial support discussion, I decided to formally start the conversation with the entire list.

A critical point here is that I am not trying to undermine the open approach that is the foundation of ImageJ. It is more of a case of trying to get specific tasks done without having to develop our own (Dow Chemical) internal programming capabilities or having to plead with the user group for a "freebie". In fact, one of my key requirements is that we would always be able to upgrade to the current version of ImageJ from the web site.
I have a much longer version of this discussion that I will send out to those who show initial interest.
Thanks, and Best Regards,
Bill
