Loosing XMP format metadata when Cropping Image

Hi, I have an Image which has metadata information like Caption,keywords,copyright etc. added using Adobe photo shop. When I use this image to crop a new Image using ImageJ, I am loosing all the information. Can you please suggest how to overcome this issue? Thanks Laxman Pula
