I recently posted about MIJ not seeming to work quite right in Matlab
2014. I have figured out more details about this problem.
MIJ and Miji are not compatible with any downstream use of
"javaaddpath" . Any further use of a javaaddpath command disables MIJ.
The previous MIJ instance is dead and cannnot be reached from matlab
(although any images already open can still be saved out). The GUI
windows from the dead instance can still be closed but the images from
the dead instance can not be, and will only go away when Matlab is
exited.
I like using javaaddpath in my scripts, as it allows me to push
changes to a JAR to colleagues, and for them to start using the
updated JAR without rebooting Matlab. But for now, a workaround is to
avoid javaaddpath. Like I said I don't think this was a problem in
Matlab 2013, though my copy is gone now.
